I earned my Master's in Counseling in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Drama Therapy from Antioch University in Seattle, WA in Fall 2021. My master's project included developing and quantitatively researching a tabletop role playing game for therapy purposes. This game has been utilized with with various youth populations in different settings. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of South Dakota in Spring 2018.
I have professional counseling experience within various programs, including wraparound intensive services (WISe), child and family counseling for individuals in the family system, domestic violence community mental health, and school-based counseling services. I also have experience leading social skill building groups, working with neurodivergent groups, and leading group Dungeons & Dragons therapy. My experience has equipped me to work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues, to include ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression.
I'm a mental health counselor who believes in getting to know you and your interests first, then the healing can begin. I provide counseling services to teens and adults via telehealth in Washington state. I believe being fun and interest-oriented helps clients find where they are presently, so we can build a desireable future. I firmly believe people never fail, plans fail, so let's make a new plan. You are the expert of your own life; I'm here to help you remember the strengths that may have been forgotten along the way or maybe needs some adjustement to the present. I have been trained in a variety of theoretical approaches and integrates these approaches to best fit clients' needs. I enjoy working from a trauma-informed, geek therapy lens to gain a holistic view that can highlight strengths and orient us to best build additional supports. I integrate aspects from resiliency-centered counseling, narrative therapy, drama therapy, and geek therapy.
